We arrived in Maastricht and did a bus tour to Aachen (back in Germany) where we did a city walk and then drove to the Germany/Belgium/Netherlands border.

In the city, we discovered ruins dating back more than 2 centuries and a constant flow of 50C water from underground springs

Although the surrounding area is very flat, there is a substantial mountain (maybe 350 metres high) heavily forested leading out of the town to a beautiful area set up for good hikes, amusements, restaurants etc and a mini obelisk for the 3 countries intersection.
