This morning we awoke in Cochem on the Moselle River. I did a tour which included Reichsburg Castle, standing very high on the hills over the town.

Jenni needed a rest day so stayed on board. The castle was certainly interesting but, in the end, was just another abc. The town was very nice and dates back to about 800 AD. As is the case with many parts of Germany, it has been occupied by the French many times and the history is captured in the attached mural.

Later that day, we walked into town for a further look.

That night we sailed to Bernkastel.
