Last night’s dinner at Portobello was fantastic. Every course was delicious and superbly matched with Italian wines. We finished with limoncello of course and then listened to a wonderful violinist in the lounge. The city then put on a fireworks display (something to do with river celebration). We were too tired to stay up and watch it.

This morning, we visited the old township and experienced Siegfried’s Musikkabinett, an amazing collection. We then took the cable car ride to the Niederwald memorial, then walked slowly back to the ship.

After lunch we resumed our cruise along the famous Rhine Gorge to Niederlahnstein where we propped for the evening before entering the Moselle River. Unfortunately it was cold and windy on deck so we did not see it at its best.
