Last night’s concert was absolutely brilliant. Mostly German, Austrian and Italian opera but concluding with some great songs – If I were a rich man, When you wish upon a star, and Somewhere. The 2 vocalists had wonderful voices and could really perform.

Today we have decided to take it easy and stay on board this morning. It means missing Heidelberg but it has been all go and we just need a chance to chill out. This afternoon, we sail to Rudesheim which is the first town that coincides with the Budapest to Amsterdam tour we did some years ago.

The weather today was cool and windy so we didn’t get to sit out on the top deck as we had hoped. Let’s hope it picks back up again. Tonight we are dining at Portabellos which is a small area at the rear of the lounge that serves a set Italian meal. It is invitation only as it only holds about 20 guests. We are joining our friends Bob and Judy. It is Bob’s birthday so that will be nice.
